Pressure Cooker Beef Tongue
Tongue is very tasty, tender and also very nutritious! but takes a long time to cook, that’s why I used pressure cooker.
- 1 beef tongue
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- salt and pepper to taste
Place beef tongue, onion, garlic, turmeric powder and bay leaf in the a pressure cooker pour in enough water to cover beef mixture.
Cook for about 25-35 minutes.
Transfer beef tongue to a work surface and cool slightly. Peel outer layer of skin from beef tongue and remove rough end. Chop the meat into bite-size pieces.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, cook and stir beef tongue meat until tender, 5 to 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Optional steps: When tongue is cooked, there should be about two cups of broth left. Add tomato paste and green peas to the tongue-juice and bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat for a few minutes until thickened. That would be ideal to dip some bread in it. enjoy!
